Hustle, hustle, hustle. Grind, grind, grind. "Work life balance." "I’ll sleep when I’m dead." We’ve all heard these sayings, and most of us have not taken the time to consider how it actually affects us in the harmful ways of diminishing our intuition.
WE all know that it is intuitively better to feel, than it is NOT to feel, however we often measure our success based on the amount of productivity we accomplish. Our self worth unconsciously gets wrapped up into our output.
As I write this, I am questioning that very statement. How many of these videos should I record today before I go on a walk in nature? Did I meditate long enough this morning? What if I don’t get ALL the things done that I expect to today? How will that make me feel?
There’s a running narrative in our daily mind that tells us “you have to produce as much as possible”. Spending too much time in this loop puts us in harmony with dying.
WE should be looking to become more patient, less triggered, more understanding and compassionate. That is being in harmony with living.
Our society has conditioned us to be “as productive as possible.” The rapid innovation of technology has only added to this epidemic furthering us from our innate wisdom, our connection to self and others, but most importantly a connection to the earth we belong to.
Of course, there is no right way, or wrong way, just a lot of different ways to navigate our human experience and having meaningful work is an added bonus to life, BUT it is NOT who you are as a unique individual.
When you’re microdosing, combine a simple meditation to your day with this guiding intention:
Think about the good qualities that might mean something to YOU and focus your Mind’s Eye on that.
